A traffic stop north of Flint Hill on March 10 resulted in the arrest of a Centreville woman, who was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Diane Eason, 42, was stopped near the intersection of Route 522 and Route 630 at about 8:30 p.m. by Dep. James Welch of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office. Upon interviewing the drived, Dep. Welch charged her with DUI.
At nearly midnight on March 15, Sgt. Roger Jenkins was called to a residence on Route 622 near Castleton to investigate a complaint that six all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) were being operated on a trail near the residence.
The noise from the ATVs disturbed the occupants of the residence, who called the Sheriff’s Office. Upon reaching the scene, Sgt. Jenkins found that the ATVs had left the area.
Sheriff Larry Sherertz noted that the county does not have a noise ordinance that would apply to the incident, but that it is still under investigation.
The destruction of five mailboxes on Lizzie Mills Road near Castleton on the night of March 16 is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Dep. Jeff Breeden is investigating the damaged mailboxes, which were reported on March 17.
