Rappahannock 2, Clarke 1 Rappahannock beat visiting Clarke County 2-1 in a thriller on Friday. Both teams were scoreless until the sixth inning, when both the Panthers and the Eagles scored one run apiece. With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh, lead-off hitter Amanda Smoot knocked a single, then made it to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Tupper. Christina Naramore stepped up to the plate next and hit a single to send Smoot home and win the game for Rappahannock. Smoot led the Panthers in hitting for the game, batting 3 for 4 with two singles and a double. Crystal Heflin went 2 for 3. Rappahannock had a total of 10 hits in the game. Tupper pitched a complete t game, allowing four hits and throwing 11 strikeouts with no walks. Rappahannock 4, Strasburg 2 Smoot and Tupper shared i pitching duties for Rappahannock on Tuesday at Strasburg.
