It feels like we’ve gone straight from winter to summer and have skipped spring altogether! But according to the calendar it is still early spring and Fd be willing to bet there’s some spring cleaning going on around Amissville. One of the things we look at each year at this time is all the stuff we have that we no longer need or want. But what do you do with it all? There was a time in our life we lived in an area where a garage sale was a feasible solution to all this unwanted stuff Now that we live a bit off the beaten path we’ve had to come up with other alternatives.
I grew up in a frugal household and can’t bear to just send it all to the landfill. If you feel the same way and are staring at your own pile of things you need to get rid of here are some suggestions.
There are a lot of non-profit groups that hold yard sales as a way to raise money for their organization. Consider donating your things to one of these groups. You get a tax deduction and the group gets some much needed funds. Even better, after the yard sale they have to figure out what to do with the stuff that no one bought!
