Our two governing boards, the school board and the board of supervisors, shouldn’t be a good ‘ole boys club. We need them to be leaders. Statesmen. I know it’s no easy job and not one Fd ever want, but they have asked for our votes and told us they’d represent us. So we need their help. It’s been said, “The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant.”
This county will change forever if you don’t bring our school spending to something that resembles the real Rappahannock County. The school budget is increasing each year at an alarming rate. I support an independent audit as has been suggested already. It should be conducted by someone detached from our system. Without objectivity well not get good results.
