As long as we’re talking about Gray Ghost, they’re hosting their Gewurztraminer Garden Party on Saturday, May 5 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Gray Ghost Vineyards. The event takes place in the Victoria garden and includes a buffet dinner catered by The Inn at Meander Plantation. Live jazz music will be provided by The Seth Kibel Jazz Trio. While the Gewurztraminer will be the star of the party, the entire line of Gray Ghost wines will be available for your enjoyment. Reservations are required and seating is limited. You can call 540-937-4869 for reservations. Tickets are $75 per person plus tax and gratuity.
Has anyone else out there done any frog weaving yet this year? You know what I’m talking about. You’re driving home after dark and it’s just rained. You turn onto South Poes and the pavement is still wet and there are thousands of frogs on the road. I will freely admit that I have an over developed aversion to killing things. So, I begin a very erratic driving pattern in an attempt to spare the life of as many frogs as humanly possible. This effort is complicated by the sheer numbers of frogs, the speed of the vehicle and the feet that the frogs don’t stay in one place. I know they have some kind of device that’s supposed to send out a signal to deer that they should stay away from your car. Anyone know of such a device for frogs?
