Then attack the budget from a knowledgeable base and come up with alternatives before the budget gets to the stage where it is presented to the supervisors.
I probably work as hard as anyone for my money and, being of New England Puritan stock, am probably as tight with it as they come, but I do believe that these kids are the future and that they deserve to be as well educated as possible to cope with, and perhaps change, the crazy world out there. Therefore, spending tax dollars to create an adequate school system certainly seems like a sound investment to me.
