Langburg gave way headinguphill around the far bend, with Rare Bush moving best of all. Murphy skirted inside a tiring Langburg, avoided the melee when Sovereign Duty clipped heels before the second last and lost rider Danielle Hodsdon, and took aim on the leader as Murphy held steady to the last.
Though Gliding jumped off Rare Bush’s flank, he made ground with a big effort over the final hurdle, edging even as the pair battled to the sharp left-hand elbow turn for the final run-in. Under strong urging, Gliding drew clear of Rare Bush, with late-comer Best Attack (Chip Miller)
