When it closed, the students were then transported to the Sperryville School, now Faith Mountain.
One of the teachers, Miss Ivy Bruce would go beyond her teaching duties and taught the girls at recess how to sew, crochet, and embroidery. She was preparing them for what they needed for their future years.
The records of this school go back to at least 1900, when 9 Miss Lily O'Bannon was the teacher, and there were 26 students.
The original school was torn down and a new one built. This one has been converted into a private home for a longtime county resident.
As the song goes, "quite a few things have changed since way back then."
You can tell with the nights cooler that fall is upon us.
The trees are showing some shades of yellow, especially in the willow, walnut and sycamore. Reds are also showing in the dogwood.
As of now, we have not had frost but the change takes place with less day light hours. Since the first of July we started loosing one minute in the morning and one minute in the evening. This makes the days shorter by thirty minutes per month.

;. The Ernest Dodson family reunion was held Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Rappahannock Park. There were approximately 100 in attendance and everyone had a great time and beautiful weather.
Get well wishes are extended to Mrs. Shirley Dodson, who has been ill.
