The 63rd annual running of the International Gold Cup Races is set for Saturday, Oct. 21 at Great Meadow in The Plains. Gates open at 10 am for pre-race entertainment with the first of seven thoroughbred horse races scheduled for 1:30 pm.
Purses total more than $130,000 for events carded on the flat, over hurdles, over the unique “steeple-thon” course and over timber. The featured International Gold Cup timber classic carries a purse of $50,000, making it this fall’s richest timber race.
