A shooting match will be held every Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company. Rules are: 12 gauge shotguns, only restriction 36 inch barrels and 25 yards. For additional information call 937-4110.
Fall festival planned for Amissville
A fall festival is planned for the Amissville village and will be sponsored by Amissville Area Community Association, Lazy S Llama Ranch and the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department. The all day affair will be held Oct. 14 from 10 a m. to 5 p.m. The event will be a celebration of rural life in and around Amissville.
Eleven different locations will be featured with events planned at all venues. Live music, crafts, food, children's activities, animal demos, 4-H displays, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Rappahannock Lions Club, Amissville Ruritans plus a lot more will be featured. Cancer Society to sponsor program
All Rappahannock citizens are encouraged to attend a program sponsored by the American Cancer Society Board of Rappahannock County. The program, Prostate - Cancer Concerns and Updates will feature speaker, Dr. David M. Pfeffer.

Bike-a-thon scheduled

Berry family reunion set
The family of James Adrian and Bertha Ellen Clark Berry would like to invite family and friends to their annual reunion Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. “Please bring a covered dish and join in the reunion," said a spokesperson. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
Trail ride and picnic
A family trail ride and picnic will be held Sept. 30 at Lizzard Run Farm in Flint Hill to benefit the Front Royal Oratorio Society. There will be two rides to choose from. The picnic will be held following the trail ride. All are welcome.

Crafters sought for festival
The Sperryville Fire Department Auxiliary is looking for craft vendors for their fall festival on Oct. 14. Anyone who would like to be a participate of the festival should call Diane Weakley at 987-8275. There will also be a quilt contest as well as a pumpkin and apple pie contest. Pickin' party scheduled
There will be a 4-H pickin' party at Hackley's Country Store in Amissville on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 2-4 p.m. Bring your instrument, singing voice and lawn chair for an afternoon of down home fun. Rappahannock 4-H will be selling raffle tickets for a 50/50 raffle and scarecrows and milk jug skeletons to welcome the fall season. Band Boosters to meet
The Rappahannock County Band Boosters will meet Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Rappahannock County High School in the new Band Room. Aerobic classes underway
