Last week's news of Mr. Trott's sudden death was indeed a
blow to all your readers. If we had not known before, that Mr. Trott’s contributions to your paper made the Rappahannock News worthwhile, we are confirmed of this now. Obviously we were not the only ones, who looked first for his columns.
You are right, it will be very difficult to find a worthy successor. According to your plans, you intend to keep our interest alive by serving us reprints. However, we have another, better solution. Is it not now the time to think of publishing his colorful and pleasing chapters about our beloved wildlife, if possible by adding a rich collection of his beautiful snapshots?
As we could gather from all his publications, his wife "Lee" (this is how we know her) has very much contributed to his work and it might be an excellent chance to secure her cooper
