Bill Welch didn't start out to be an academic leader, or a leader among his peers. But at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, he has accomplished both.
At LFCC, Welch is president of the Ambassadors, a student leadership organization that provides volunteer services to the campus and community. He has helped with the LFCC Gala, an annual black tie banquet that supports LFCC programming, and he has assisted new students in finding their way through open registration at the college. "Anything I can do for the school, I try to be there," Welch said.
And at the end of this school year, Welch will graduate with three separate associate's degrees, in General Studies, Liberal Arts and Education.
