Frances Eastham Brown, 80, died on Aug. 31 in Norfolk, Conn, following a long illness.
She was born in Washington, D.C. but spent ijiost of her childhood summers with her many cousins in Rappahannock County.
After graduating from George Washington University, she worked for the Federal Housing Authority in D.C. until 4he married Nathaniel William Brown of Long Island, N.Y.
In Connecticut she raised her six children and was an active volunteer for many Causes for the handicapped and retarded including Operation Head Start and the Jjitchfield Association for Retarded Citizens. She had been president of the latter organization.
She also enjoyed gardening, baseball, traveling and crossword puzzles.
She was the mother of Robert Brown, Julie Chamberland, Margaret Brown, Mark Brown and David Brown, all of Connecticut and Thomas Eastham Brown of Massachusetts. She was grandmother of Constance, Matthew, Lvdia and Isabel.
