Lee Trott and I place each cluster of ripe berries in a sep-' arate plastic bag in the freei-’ er. When snow and ice cover1 the ground, put the berries on the feeder (or on the ground if you wish). They get squishy as they thaw so be careful not to. satin your clothes.
Sept. 22 is the first day pt, autumn. It’s time to look foi> ward to the first White-throated Sparrow and Junco to appear in the yard.
