web based courses, Welch has taken some college classes at Rappahannock High School, using real time telecommunications technology, as well as through the Internet, at home. But he has also enjoyed being a part of the college campus at Middletown.
Welch joined the Ambassadors last year, he said, and decided this year to run for president of the organization. His election has provided a means of becoming even more involved in LFCC. "The school has done a lot for me," Welch said.
"Being in the Ambassadors is a great way to get to know the faculty, the advisers and the staff," he said. "And it puts you in a group of people you eventually become great friends with."
By transferring his LFCC credits, Welch next plans to continue his education at a four year college. But no matter how far he goes, Welch says certain parts of his LFCC education will always stand out in his memory.
"I had some great professors," he said "I got a lot out of those classes."
He is the son of Bill and JoAnne Welch of Flint Hill.
