Loudoun County artist Anita Baarns has been chosen as the official artist for this year’s International Gold Cup painting. The work will be unveiled at a Sept. 21 event at Leesburg’s Potomac Gallery.
Baarns was born in Fontainebleu, France and later moved to the Netherlands where she spent most of her childhood. In 1988 she emigrated to the U.S. and entered Northern Virginia Community College where she majored in fine arts. She graduated summa cum laude in 1993.
