this column because I have received many requests for the answer to the question: "When should I stop feeding hummingbirds?" Apparently false information has been circulated on that subject because many of those questioning me thought that if one fed hummingbirds too long they wouldn't migrate! Not likely.
The evolution of behavior doesn't work that fast; the feeding of nectar to hummingbirds has only been a national pastime for about 30 years.
