following a pass from a GM halfback. A second Mustang came bursting through Rappahannock’s fullbacks to receive the pass and boot it squarely into the net from 15 yards out. Once the barrage started, it didn’t stop, at least not in the first half.
The Panthers were a different team in the second 20 minutes of play. The forward line of Vinnie Caporuscio, Mike DelGrosso and Doug McCabe looked before they passed. Hallbacks Jon McCullough and Will Oliver aggressively pursued the ball on defense, breaking up plays with steals and passing off to teammates for a scoring attempt.
Still George Mason got the initial score of the second period after a shot bounced off the top of the goal right to a Mustang who sent it flying back to the net to build the advantage to 70.
