Would you consider instituting the late night check points that have been used effectively in Maryland and in some Virginia counties and cities, including several nearby localities?
“Drunk driving is a serious problem throughout the state and county. 1 want the law enforcement personnel with the sheriffs department to deal with drunk drivers whenever he or she comes in contact with them (as should be the case with any police officer who is on the road in a patrol capacity) due to the seriousness and danger to the community of this violation. If through my evaluation, we find the need for late night check points to deter trouble areas and protect motorists and citizens, we will experiment with late night check points.”
