Awarded raves by the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Washington Star and Commonwealth magazine, the Inn serves both classical and nouveau French cuisine. The service is impeccable and the surroundings elegant. It is theater and fine dining combined. However, during the season of the leaves reservations are a must.
There are restaurants on the Drive itself—Big Meadows, Skyland and Panorama plus several wayside fast food eateries, all run as concessions. But unless Howard Johnson's is your idea of a good restaurant, it's best to save the eating for later and spend your time on the Drive admiring the leaves and the view.
