Speaking of dry wells, Doris Donald says the one at the Amissville Baptist Church went dry last week just when she was helping the Ruritan Club serve 38 people at the Senior Citizens’ Night dinner.
She had four helpers at dishwashing time, but it went slow', carrying the water and washing from two pans the old-fashioned way. Doris says she had got used to the beautiful dishwasher that takes 30 gallons of water per cycle.

The men came to drill at the church Wednesday and Thursday but they found only one inch of w ater after they went 200 feet. Then the bit broke. And Doris was afraid it would still be dry on Sunday.
Weekend before last Frank and Doris went to see their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen McCauley in Colesville, Maryland. They’re still getting settled in their new house and Doris says everything is going well for them.
