opened a Roy Rogers franchise in front of the Leesburg Plaza Shopping Center in east Leesburg.
Both are near areas where growth is expected to come. And both are counting on that growth to prove out the decisions to build there.
"I certainly didn't see it shortterm, because I built in the middle of a recession,” says Peter H. Plamondon, president of Plamondon Enterprises. "But in the long-term I think Leesburg is going to be a good bet."
Bill Wright, operating manager of Hardee's for First Venture, takes a similar view.
"Loudoun County, we felt had the population base to support it," he says. He adds that when the group built the restaurant, it wanted to make it work immediately, but with the knowledge that the area would grow. _
