can walk down for a Coke or an ice cream. I could imagine everyone gathering in that store, passing bits of information and news, and I wished it wasn’t so early so that 1 might go in and bend and ear or better yet, have mine bent.
Further on, I saw the church and the volunteer firehouse. The real coursity was across the street, there sat the remains of many happy summer days. The fire departments amusement park, site of the annual carnival with Ferris wheel and rides that whirl around and around.
It was magical and I was a little sad that the carnival was closed for another year. I could taste the popcorn and candied apples and hear the bingo numbers being called loudly from the low white washed building.
A marvelous place, Chester Gap. On a quiet fall morning while I toured their town, 1 knew I would have to find out more about the people who live on the mountain.
