Additional survivors include three brothers, Clarence Thompson and James Thompson, both of Front Royal and Bernard Thompson of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Catherine Simons of Hagerstown, Md., and Blanche Miles of Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 17 at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park at Winchester.
Pallbearers were Wayne Oliver, Greg Grim, Guy Haun, Dickie Hawkins, Mitchell Sine and Gerald Sours.
Honorary pallbearers were Earl Hawkins, Jr., Marlon Corron, Julian Duncan and Tommy Flippin.
Marie Tarpey
Marie Magdelena Tarpey, 82, of Slate Mills, died Friday, February 14, 1986, at the residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. Maggie Collins, following a long illness.
Mrs. Tarpey was a native of New York and had lived in Slate Mills for several years.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Tarpey of Daytona Beach, Fla., and John Tarpey of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Clore Funeral Home, Saturday, February 15, with Father Leo Zonneveld of Culpeper officiating. Interment was in St. Raymonds
