Point to point
On Saturday, March 1, the Virginia point-to-point races move into Rappahannock. The site is Thornton Hill Farm in Sperryville where members of the Rappahannock Hunt have been busily preparing for the event.
On that day, the quiet pastures will be transformed into an area filled with cheering spectators, the resounding sounds of horses, and the baying of fine Virginia foxhounds.
The Rappahannock Hunt has spent an enormous amount of time and money to ensure that these races will be successful. Their considerable efforts will result, as it does each year, in a day of excitement that will be long remembered.
The point-to-point races are a proud part of our county’s heritage. They are a part of what it means to live in Rappahannock County.
If you have never been to races like these, remember that people drive for many miles to be a part of this grand tradition. We hope you will want to spend the day in Virginia Hunt country enjoying what many people in the United States can only read about.
