The ladies timber is scheduled as the fifth race of the day, at three miles. An open hurdle race at 1 %miles follows the ladies race. For the seventh race, the owner-rider timber field takes to the course for a three mile battle. Eighth race is an open timber, also at three miles, and the final race of the day is an open flat race at six furlongs.
Warrenton Hunt
Following Blue Ridge, the races move to Warrenton where, on Saturday, March 15, they will be held at the historic Broadview course, former home of the Virginia Gold Cup.
Warrenton offers eight races beginning at 11:30 a.m. with junior races for ponies. The junior races are a new feature on Warrenton’s race card for 1986.
At 12:30 p.m. the owner-rider hurdle field begins the day’s racing over fences. This is followed by a ladies timber race, at three miles, and then an open timber race, also at three miles.
