Every three months Stephanie and Ernie Millham sit down at an IBM personal computer on a homemade desk in their kitchen and put out a horse magazine.
The couple publish the magazine —entitled The Horse Of Kings —not as a great profit-making venture, nor for the thrill of seeing their names in print in their own magazine, but for the love of a horse.
The horse in question is the Spanish Andalusian, and its counterpart in Portugal, the Lusitano. For more than 10 years Stephanie Grant Millham has been devoted to these two similar breeds. She and her husband Ernie founded The Horse Of Kings to promote the breeds and tell the stories of these horses to horse owners worldwide.
“It’s strictly a labor of love,” says Mrs. Millham of the magazine. “We do it because we love the breed and want it to succeed. ”
The Millhams are the only “staff’ of the little magazine which is put together at their Avilion Farm in Catlett and printed in Warrenton.
