Coincidentally, Uncle Edwin’s dam, Cousin Yvonne, was the leading dam of steeplechase winners in 1984 and 1985, with three to her credit in both years. Cousin Yvonne is also a Virginia-bred horse, having been bred by Dorothy Smithwick of Middleburg.
