Middleburg Hunt
Middleburg is the only hunt whose point-to-point meet is held on a sanctioned steeplechase race course. It’s also the only hunt to card 10 races.
This year, Glenwood Park will host the Middleburg Hunt’s races on Saturday, March 29. Hunter pairs for adult optimum and fast time and junior optimum time will begin the day at 10 a.m.
Juniors take to the beautiful turf course at Glenwood at 11:30 a.m. for a series of flat races for horses and ponies. Then at noon, novice riders race over the flat course.
The first jump race of the day is the owner-rider hurdle race which will be over a two mile course. The owner-rider timber race will follow over a three mile course.
Fifth race on the Middleburg card is a six furlong flat race for horses that haven’t won at a sanctioned meet. Then novice horses that haven’t won two races over hurdles take to the course for a two mile race. Following the novice race, lady riders will compete over a three mile timber course.
The prestigious Middleburg Bowl open timber race is eighth on the card over a distance of 3‘A miles
