Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Burke of Washington were honored with a luncheon February 13, 1971 in celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. The luncheon given by their children, was held in the social hall of the Washington Baptist Church. The former Miss Mary Ellen Burke and Charles C. Burke were married in Charles Town, W.Va., February 14, 1921 by the Rev. W. M. Swann.

ment cost the taxpayers about $75,000 in 1980 dollars. This price is too high to pay for all the irritatioh I heard over the last one. I feel that if we can keep current through the Building Office, then it is in our best interest to spend that $75,000 maybe every six years as opposed to every four years for a 50 percent savings. Rappahannock County is scheduled to reasses next year.
