Gorfein to speak
Meredith Gorfein, Democratic candidate for the 31st District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates, will issue the first of her Health Care statements this Friday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. in Front Royal at the Gazebo on Main Street.
On Friday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m., Candidate Gorfein will be speaking on environmental issues at the courthouse in! Washington. At that time she will also make an announce* ment of a gift she is giving to the Town of Washington.
Annual cemetery day set
The annual cemetery clean up day and picnic at the Bolen Cemetery in Shenandoah National Park is scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 25. The group will be meeting at the parking area at the end of Route 614 in Gid Brown Hollow and will leave by 11 a.m. All parties interested in joining in are requested to bring a dish or drink to share and your own seating. Anyone with pickup trucks available to “haul” others up the mountain will be appreciated. For further information call Wayne Baldwin at 825-8394.
Shooting match at Castleton
The Castleton Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a shooting match every Friday night at 7 p.m. on the grounds of the department. Local residents are encouraged to support this endeavor.
