Each race listing will name all entries, with post position numbers and other information as above. Horses^ from the same stable will often be listed as nos. 1 and la, for example, or triple entries from one owner as 1, la and lx. The horse, owner, trainer and rider names are self-explanatory, as are sex, age, sire and dam. Colors may be gr. or gray, b. or bay, ch. or chestnut, dk. b/br. which is dark bay or brown, sometimes nearly black. There are very few true black horses, but if there is one, it will be designated as blk.
The jockey’s weight reflects the weight of rider, saddle and pads, though not the bridle.
