I am never in favor of raising taxes The school budget takes up the largest portion of the budget. around 65 percent: therefore, it’s under the most scrutiny. You never want to deny our youth the opportunity to obtain a good education As a Supervisor, with help from the School Board, we must be sure that our tax dollars are meeting that requirement. The School Board is build' ig an addition to the high school, the Supervisors are building new ball fields, the county needs more office space and the list of expenses increase every year. It will be more of a challenge to balance the budget in coming years, but it must be balanced. B) Rappahannock County citizens have always had a very strong sense of volunteerism and community spirit. I would hate to see that come to an end. I do know that the local companies are having trouble recruiting new members. We can only hope that trend reverses itself. The countv has
