Sending a message that law-abiding citizens live in our county and non-law-abiding citizens will not be tolerated. B) The Sheriff’s job in Rappahannock has become a very administrative one, as it has been in larger counties for sometime. With this in mind, we must have deputies that are from the communities that can interact with the citizens during these daily duties, allowing for good feedback to the administrative staff. Also,#l believe that being raised in Rapp*ahannock and with 12 years experience as Sheriff, I would be someone the citizens would feel like they could call on to talk about their concerns. Community meetings would not be ruled out, but in my experience the majority of the citizens would rather voice their concerns in private than in public.
