Age: 53 Home: Washington A) To comply with proposed technology improvements that will be compatible with a system to provide statewide remote access to land records, in accordance with the recommendations of JLARC and the Task Force on Land Records Management established by the Department of Technology Planning. In simple terms, this means trying to comply with proposed requirements that will cause all clerk's offices statewide to make their land records accessible via the internet. This is a frightening thought, not only from cost and constant changing technology aspects but especially from a security point of view. B) To comply with the above-referenced requirements by obtaining the best equipment at the least possible cost to the locality. For the last five years I have taken a pro-active position with members of the General Assembly by writing letters, attending sessions of the General Assembly and working with our lobbyist to fund this anticipated mandate by providing for the collection of technology fees specifically earmarked to offset the costs of this proposal. I intend to continue working toward this goal.
