• Applications for the Community After School Enrichment program (for K-seventh students) were sent home with RCES students. Other children in the community who wish to participate may pick up an application from the RCES office. Course offerings for the fall session include basketball, pottery, basketry, computer skills, and more. The class and instructors are of the highest caliber. Mrs. Shannon Swain is the new program administrator. You may call her with questions at 987-8259.

• Twelve teachers and administrators from RCES and RCHS applied for Mini-Grants from Headwaters recently. These grants allow staff members to provide students with incredible opportunities that they might otherwise miss. We applaud all staff members who take advantage of this wonderful program. Many thanks to Headwaters and those of you in the community who so generously support it.

• Mrs. Kaye Kohler, RCES parent and PTO member, has agreed to chair the Campbell’s Labels for Education campaign this year. If you see her, please thank her. We are still looking for parents to chair the GM Box Tops campaign and the Giant “Apples for the Students Plus” program. If you can do either, please call Jan Makela at 987-8259.

• Thanks to all of you who have so generously saved these items for our school in the past. We appreciate it very much as they provide our students and teachers with many wonderful and important materials which enhance the educational experience for everyone.
