A) I fought hard against HB 2324, which aimed at taking local control over zoning away from our counties. I spoke against the bill on a number of occasions, and voted against ft throughout the session. Despite our efforts, the bill passed and measures are being taken by affected counties to address the legislation, which comes into effect January 1, 2000. B) We have honored our promises with true tax relief. Our booming economy is extending opportunities to all Virginians. Much more needs to be done. I have taken a no-tax increase pledge and will continue to honor it. Record tax payer dollars have been put into protecting our environment. I am
