We are presently at our limits in paying taxes with so few taxpayers in our county. Long term planning already should have been addressed and the funds appropriated annually to meet those goals. Seek out environmentally clean industries to assist with the tax burden. B) The county has no choice but to maintain volunteer fire and rescue services. The Fire Levy needs to be maintained to cover all the operating expenses of the volunteer services. The volunteers are presently extended to their limits in training, responding to emergency calls, maintaining equipment and conducting fund raising activities.
