Abuse shelter
changes name
The Women’s Abuse Shelter in Culpeper will change its name July 1 to Services To Abused Families, Inc. (SAFE). The Shelter sponsored a contest for a new logo which will reflect their name change and the services they provide.
First, second, and third prizes of $60, $25, and $10 were awarded at the WAS annual general membership meeting June 16 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper. The contest was open to all senior art students in Orange, Madison, Culpeper, Rappahannock, and Fauquier counties.
First place went to Ronnie Walkawicz from Fauquier, second to Ron Carpenter from Madison and third to Mike Bowman, also of Madison.
