The weather was fair and the crowd was happy at the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department’s annual carnival last weekend.
Cool clear nights made for a good turnout, “especially Friday and Saturday nights,” said President David Sheffield. “The department was pretty pleased” with the way the carnival went. _
Mr. Sheffield’s sentiments were echoed by Diane Morris, department treasurer. She reported the gross receipts for the carnival’s four-night run were $13,537.58.
