Ordinarily I would not waste my time answering a letter written by Robert Eastham, however this last letter is so full of untruths that it needs to be addressed.
1. Every five years the Comprehensive Plan of the county has to be updated by law. The Rappahannock Planning Commission in conjunction with Planning District 9 worked out the questionnaire. Ten percent of the households in Rappahannock were called in a random survey. Neither the Supervisors nor the Planning Commission was involved in the telephone sampling. Neither the questionnaire nor the survey had anything to do with the budget process.
2. I was present in the courtroom at the same time as Mr. Eastham was during the budget hearing. After each county department head presented his budget requests, the chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Mr. Gilkey, asked for comments from the public. Mr. Eastham had ample opportunity to speak but
