Art workshop

Laurie Marshall will be the instructor for the week of July 21-25. The workshop for children ages 6-10 will be held at the Learning Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Ms. Marshall will be using acrylic paints and helping the children learn to draw. She will work with the children’s own ideas and help them with the technical aspects. The children’s artwork will be displayed in the town of Washington.

Fun, fitness and fashion

This workshop will meet from July 28-August 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Learning Center. Girls ages 12-16 must register by July 25. Activities scheduled for the week are hair care by Darlene Moore, nail care by Marsha Thompson, skin care by Pat Giles, aerobics by Rose Ann Sharp, fashion by Nancy Scoggin, swimming at Edna Metzinger’s and Clarissa Leggett’s.

Swimming lessons

Classes will be held from July 28August 6 at Clarissa Leggett’s pool. Vinnie DeLuise will be the instructor again this year. Beginners and intermediate classes will be offered for ages 3-6 and 6-10.
