A public hearing before the

Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled for Friday, June 18, at 10 a.m. on the application of the Potomac Edison Company of Virginia for the construction of a power line.

Edward Moffett Jones, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jones of Washington, received a BS degree in horticulture from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, at commencement exercises held June 5.

will be featured in the June 17 edition of Sports Illustrated magazine. He has been a star player and pitcher for the Rappahannock County High School baseball team for the past four years, and will be seen in the magazine’s “Faces in the Crowd.” This section is concerned with exceptional feats of individuals in all phases of athletics.

Though visitation to Shenandoah National Park to date this calendar year is up, the month of May showed a decrease in visitors. The calendar year total through May was 790,000 as compared to 661,100 a year ago.
