CCLC offers
enrichment for
the summer
The Child Care and Learning Center is offering a full summer program for school age children and adults of Rappahannock and neighboring counties. The school age children’s teacher is Renee Viguerie, a senior at James Madison University majoring in early childhood education.
Natural history day camp
The Rappahannock Natural History Day Camp is run by Lyt Wood and Hunt Harris. The camp is for children ages 8-10 and runs from June 16-27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Shaw House in Castleton. The campers will explore forests, meadows, rivers and ponds and develop an awareness of living things and their interrelationships. Local wildlife, water life, field and woodland ecology, trees and wild plants will be introduced in an informal, non-competitive atmosphere. The camp’s staff will provide new knowledge and skills while emphasizing the fun and adventure of being out-of-doors.
‘Our bodies as healers’
This workshop is for adults who are interested in understanding their basic anatomy, physiology and methods for optimizing health and well-being. The classes are scheduled as follows:
June 24: Overview of various healing techniques.
July 1: The nervous system.
July 8: The circulatory system.
July 15: The lymphatic system.
July 22: The endocrine system.
July 29: The gastro-intestinal system.
The workshop will be held at the Learning Center from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
