Jacqueline Ann Wayland, a former student of RCHS, recently graduated from Luray High School with a gold tassel for high academic achievements.
She received an Advanced Studies diploma with a Governor’s Seal. Miss Wayland was a first honor graduate which required a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
She is one of only three in the State of Virginia to receive the Virginia Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Nethi Tucker Yowell Scholarship, and is the first graduate from Luray High School to win this scholarship.
Miss Wayland also received the Luray Chapter’s Beta Sigma Phi Society Scholarship. She was awarded the Presidential Academic Fitness Award and her second Academic Letter, and was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
She was involved in extracurricular activities such as National Honor Society, a varsity softball manager, a three-year French Club member, an Art Club member, and SCA representative. She recently
