Thanks to rescue squad
To the editor:
I want to thank the group of Washington medics who took me to the Fauquier Hospital last Wednesday.
Their immediate response to the call for help, their professional handling of the situation was very reassuring. They monitored my vital signs, talked to the hospital and, if the situation had called for it, could have taken measures they needed to stabilize me. Their genuine interest in my health, their friendly conversation to help me relax at a difficult time were all very much a part of this good service. , ,
We in Rappahannock County are fortunate indeed to have these well trained people who give of their time frefely for the well being of the entire populace. It saddened me to hear that their services sometimes are only criticized, their financial support from the county and the town are given in only a tentative manner this year maybe not next year!
When they do perform an excellent service, I think the public has a right to hear about it — they need equal press.
Recently a man was shot and killed standing on his front porch. A long article gave all the details of this event, naming many of the people involved. Roger Roach’s medics were mentioned as a group and that the man has been resuscitated but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. What was not stressed was that the man was kept vital for an hour and 20
