events set
CulpeperFest ’86 has been set for Thursday, August 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Commonwealth Park. This will be the fifth consecutive year the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce has sponsored this community festival, which was conceived to celebrate the lifestyle of our people and the beauty of our land.
According to CulpeperFest Chairman Jere Willis, this year’s festival will include an “all-you-caneat” menu, exciting entertainment, and special activities for enjoyment and tribute to the people, businesses, and culture of the community.
The entertainment this year will consist of a bluegrass band called The Mineral Spirits playing several sets of bluegrass music. In between these sets, there will be a variety of entertainment consisting of a folk/children’s band, a magician, and a belly dancer, plus much more throughout the evening.
In addition to this continuous entertainment there will also be clowns roaming the grounds giving out balloons and entertaining the children, and booths set up for everyone’s enjoyment.
