The “Scrabble Times” includes a survey form designed to learn how much community support there is for various options for the future use of the property, including using it for such community purposes as a senior citizens’ center, a community club room, a day care center, a museum of county history and/or a branch library.
The Board of Supervisors’ current plans call for selling this countyowned property to help defray the cost of developing a central location for collecting trash and recyclables.
Mr. Warner and his Save Our School campaign is trying to generate community support for the county keeping the site for one or more of these uses or leasing or selling the property to a community group which that would restore the building for one of these uses.
Mr. Warner attended the Scrabble School as did many currently involved in the Save Our School campaign. The mailing of the “Scrabble Times” is an effort to reach out to the larger community for support.
