Garden Club Busy
With Fall Activities

The Garden Club of Rappahannock has been busy with fall activities and cleanup.
In September Bill Watson managed of transportation and roadside gave a program with his slides on roadside beautification.
He is in charge of the wildflower display in the county. After his program Jill Waters and Erin Platt gave an account of the days they spent at the club’s nature camp this summer.
The design class entry was won by member Helen Smith and Betty Wood.
At the October meeting held this week Jerry and Carolyn Jenkins of Maryland spoke about gardening to attract butterflies and ladybugs.
They had on display their variety of houses, they build for the habitat of the birds, ladybugs and butterflies. They told about the importance of these insects to your garden.
The club reported they had cleaned up their portion of the road from Sperryville down Rt. 231.
Some upcoming workshops were announced and the Christmas workshop would be held in early December.
The design class winners of blue ribbon was Helen Brown, red ribbon, Betty Wood and yellow ribbon, Dottie Hooff. Many ribbons were won in the horticulture division.
Lees Have 3rd Son
Lavonne and Pat Lee and sons, Thomas and Trevor of Washington are proud to announce the birth oif their son and brother, Tanyon Miller Lee.
Tanyon was bom at home at 6:31 a.m. on Sept. 28.
He weighed 10 pounds and thre£ ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. . •
Birth attendant was She-ila Simms-Watson.
Maternal grandparents are Louise Adkins of Washington and James Adkins of Front Royal.
Paternal grandparents are Tom and Loretta Lee of Washington.
