On the afternoon of Oct. 18, one mile west of U.S. 522 on Route 231, William Dobrovir, 61, of Sperryville, had an accident with Ronnie Meadows, 32, of Madison.
According to Sgt. Newlin, when Mr. Dobrovir was attempting to make a left hand turn on U.S. 231, Mr. Meadows attempted to pass him on the left, unaware that Mr. Dobrovir was going to make a left turn. Mr. Dobrovir’s car was struck by Mr. Meadow’s 1983 GMC truck. Mr. Dobrovir’s 1994 Ford 4-door sustained $5,000 damage and Mr. Meadows’s truck had $500 damage.
Mr. Meadows was charged by Trooper Mike Woodard with reckless driving.
Last Friday, a female 16 year-old from Flint Hill ran off the road and struck a telephone pole on Route 641, 1/2 mile north of U.S. 522 in Flint Hill. She received minor injuries and was charged with reckless driving by Trooper Woodard. The station wagon sustained $2,000 damage and the telephone pole was damaged in the amount of $200.
